about
I wrote Silk & Lace during some rather dark times when I wasn't sure what the future held, and fortunately came out the other side a better man. Most of finding the light in life again was due to undeserved love, and at the end of the day love is all that matters.
This track has been a staple of both my singer-songwriter performances, as well as my work with Waits & Co. Bringing this tune to a recording session with musician/producer/engineer Andrew Sovine was perhaps the greatest thing I could've done with it. Andrew managed to pull out of my thoughts exactly how I heard it in my mind, and even bested that with his own unique flourish. The song may be something that I penned, but this recording was truly a collaboration, and I'm grateful for his expertise.
Thanks for your continued support,
Jon Waits
